Q: Considering using BXII series for a variable speed application. What analog signal range is acceptable? I need to limit my max speed to 2000 RPM using 0-10VDC signal, what parameter settings do I need to change?
A: You can use 0-10VDC, 1mA or more or 0-5VDC, 1mA or more analog signal to vary speed using a PLC. Some parameters have to be changed based on your desired input voltage value. Set the ID 2256（Analog operation speed command gain) to 200 (rpm/V) and Set ID2261 (Analog operating speed maximum value) to 2000 (rpm). See below for explanation.
Step 1: set the ID 2256（Analog operation speed command gain）
Determine the gain from the following relationship
Maximum Speed(rpm) = Speed Gain (rpm/V) x DC (V)、
Thus, Speed Gain (rpm/V) = Maximum speed (rpm) / DC(V)
EX 1) Desired max speed 4000(rpm) using 0-5VDC, Speed Gain (rpm/V) = 4000/5 = 800 (rpm/V)
EX 2) Desired max speed 4000(rpm) using 0-10VDC, Speed Gain (rpm/V) = 4000/10 = 400 (rpm/V)
EX 3) Desired max speed 2000(rpm) using 0-10VDC, Speed Gain (rpm/V) = 2000/10 = 200 (rpm/V)
EX 4) Desired max speed 3000(rpm) using 0-5VDC, Speed Gain (rpm/V) = 3000/5 = 600 (rpm/V)
Step 2: Set ID2261 (Analog operating speed maximum value) to the desired max speed value
