Shaft Run-Out, Axial Play, Radial Play for Brushless Motors

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Fri Dec 07, 2012 6:41 pm

Q: I'm looking for more mechanical specifications of your BLH series brushless motor output shafts. I'm working on a pretty sensitive motor application where the load cannot move much. Can you provide me the shaft run-out, the radial play, and the axial play?

A: Since we use the same ball bearings and shafts from our PK series step motors, these specifications should be the same for our brushless motors.

PK SERIES SHAFT/BEARING SPECIFICATIONS:
Shaft Runout
0.05 mm (0.002 in.) T.I.R.
Concentricity
0.075 mm (0.003 in.) T.I.R.
Perpendicularity
0.075 mm (0.003 in.) T.I.R.
Radial Play
0.025 mm (0.001 in.) maximum of 5 N (1.12 lb.)
Axial Play
0.075 mm (0.003 in.) maximum of 10 N (2.2 lb.)

This information is valid for PKP and PKE series stepper motors as well.
