Q: Is there a way to change speed on the fly with the UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the driver's BLFDP digital operator?
A: Yes. When the system has powered up, make sure that you're in "monitor mode". The MNTR LED should be lit on the BLF series driver's BLFDP digital operator. Press the RUN button to run the motor with the digital operator, then while it's running, press MODE. The MNTR LED will blink, and now you can use the UP and DOWN arrows to set your speed on the fly. This new adjusted speed won't replace your P.no1 stored speed data, which is the speed that it initially runs when you use the method above. If you press mode again while the motor is running with the new adjusted speed (it will stop the blinking MNTR LED), it will return to the original programmed P.no1 speed.
NOTE: If the above doesn't work, you may have to check your settings with the BLFDP digital operator. For example, operation data No. 1 and 2 needs to be set for digital setting for the above method to work. If you have those speed settings set for internal potentiometer and external potentiometer, then you can change operation data No. 3~8 on the fly with the BLF series driver's BLFDP digital operator. You do have to select the data number with physical wiring. For example, if you want to run operator data No. 3, please turn on the M1 input before pressing RUN on the digital operator.
If you need assistance with these settings, please refer to chapter 9 in the BLF series operating manual - "Applied Operations".
