BMU: Disabling the AL46 alarm during emergency stops

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:05 pm

Q: I recently purchased a BMU series motor and driver package. The system is working well, and I love the control module and the I-pod like interface. I am running into a little problem. When I do an emergency stop by removing then reconnecting AC power, the motor gets an alarm displayed as AL46. How can I enable an emergency stop without getting this alarm?

A: AL46 is the Prevention of operation at power-on alarm. It is a safety measure intended to disable motor operation at power on if one of the operation inputs is already on. This setting can be disabled using the MODE (M) and FUNCTION (F) keys as well as the setting dial as shown below. We would ask that you make sure that it is safe to disable this function in your application before disabling it.
