How to turn on BX input by sending 24VDC?

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Mon Nov 24, 2014 5:43 pm

Q: Hi my customer is using one of your BX series brushless motors with its dedicated driver. We know how to turn on the driver's inputs with switches and relays in order to control START/STOP and RUN/BRAKE, but this time, my customer wants to turn on BX inputs by sending 24VDC. How can I do this?

A: In order for your customer to turn on an input on the BX driver with 24VDC, they must use an external device with a built-in clamp diode that looks just like the left side of the wiring diagram on page D-49 of the catalog (diode facing up). Image is shown below.

The 24VDC won't damage our input (because of our downward facing diode). As long as their output can handle 24VDC, you can go ahead and try it.
