EZS II Series & Alphastep Plus Driver: Exceeding Max Speed

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Wed Jan 05, 2011 6:56 pm

Q: If I am using your Alphastep Plus driver with built-in programmable pulse generator to control your EZS II series linear slide (which allows a faster speed to be set). Can I run the linear slide faster than its rated speed?

A: We do not recommend doing so as the specifications (such as accuracy, torque, and life) will differ if operated outside of the linear slider product's designed specifications. The slider may also exhibit erratic behavior and excessive noise at beyond the maximum rated speed since the ball screw in the slider was not designed for operation beyond the maximum rated speed. Warranty will also be voided. If you need a faster speed, please ask about our SPV series of belt-driven actuator systems, or the EZX series ball screw actuator systems.
