EZA: Do I need an external guide?

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Thu May 09, 2013 3:55 pm

Q: Do I need to provide my own external guide for the EZA series motorized cylinders to support the load I'm moving?

A: If your moment loads (pitching, yawing, rolling) do not exceed our specifications for the specific cylinder model, then you do not have to provide your own external guide. However, it is always a good practice to support your load externally to lessen the stress on the bearings in our EZA motorized cylinder. Bearing life is a critical factor of product life. Our EZC II series and EZA series motorized cylinders are primarily designed for pushing. If you need to move a load, I would recommend our EZS II series motorized slides which would have built-in guides that support more load.
