NX Servos: Motor Overheat Alarm

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:32 pm

Q: I see that your NX series of servo motor & driver systems offer a motor overheat alarm. How does the driver detect this?

A: We have a temperature sensor built into the encoder that's assembled with the motor that can detect an overheating condition. If the motor temperature reached approximately 85°C (185 °F), an alarm will occur, and the motor will be disabled to prevent damage until it cools down.
