Line Driver Voltage

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Wed Aug 08, 2012 9:39 am

Q: What is the voltage level of the ASG and BSG line driver outputs on your ARD-A driver? I'm trying to figure out how to connect this to my PLC so I can verify the position of the motor.

A: We do not provide this specification because you do not really need to know. These ASG and BSG line driver outputs are designed to be connected to a 26C31 or equivalent differential line driver IC which was developed by Texas Instruments. Typically, the differential output voltage is something like +2.6v ~ -2.6v thus making a difference of 5vDC. You may have to refer to your PLC documentation or call your PLC manufacturer to see if your PLC has the proper line driver receivers/inputs.
