Holding Torque

I have a question about all BLH motors that doesn't come with brake.

What is the mechanism/force that holds the motor in place when current is on, with no rotation (0 rpm), but it seems hard to rotate the shaft.

No electromagnetic brake, no other mechanical brake? Can I know the holding force derived from catalog?

Hi ax20,

Is there a part number in particular that you are currently using from the BLH series? The BLH series does not have a holding torque value. Holding torque is generated from a stepper motor, however the BLH series is part of our Brushless DC Speed Control packages. From the speed-torque curve of the BLH series, there is no reference to a specific amount of torque at 0 RPM:

Is there a gearhead that is being used with the motor? If so, the gearing will create a resistance when attempting to rotate by hand. This resistance is a product of the mechanical gearing and is not designed for specification. Therefore, there is no value of holding torque specified for the BLH series.
