PLEASE HELP! How to send info from PLC to SCX11.

Postby jesus666viz » Mon Apr 03, 2017 12:32 pm

Hello,

I want to know how I can send a word, bit or info from Studio 5000 to SCX11 controller. I mind the structure of programming, because I have 3 SCX11 controller using RS-232C. I see in the manual that you don't explain how I can call the ID for each SCX11 controller from the PLC and I want to know it too.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi jesus666viz,

For support on the PLC, you would need to contact the manufacturer of the PLC. As for the SCX11 controller, it is programmed by RS232C. Typically, you would use our GUI software to program the controller and use the PLC to trigger inputs for selecting your program.

SCX11 Software:

When Daisy chaining multiple SCX11 controllers together, you will first need to assign an ID number to each SCX11 controller. Then you can use the "@" command to communicate to the specific controller through RS232C. You can reference page 257 of the manual which I have linked below for the information on assigning the ID number:

Thanks for the answer.

However, from the PLC I want to know How I can send the data to execute a routine through RS232C and How I choose an ID through RS232C.

So, I am interesting in the format: how can I send the byte through RS232C?

Hi jesus666viz,

In regards to your request, once the ID number has been assigned using the command ID= (page 257), then you can use the command @ (page 179) to select the controller. Once the controller is selected, then you can use the RUN command (page 330) to execute a sequence.
