AZ Firmware update

Post by om_tech_support_MD » Thu Sep 12, 2019 8:00 am

If you get an AL45 alarm on the AZ series, it is because the driver does not recognise the motor. The AZ series is constantly evolving with new products. It is currently composed of steppers, linear actuators, rack and pinion, grippers, hollow rotary actuators, and compact linear actuators. If you were using a driver that was purchased before a new product was launched, the driver will not be able to recognise the stepper as it did not exist when the driver was built.

Also, if you try to read/write to multiple holding registers (Function code 17h) and get an error message, you will have to do a firmware update.

This is an easy software update in the MEXE02 support software.

Open MEXE02 and select new

Cycle the power to the driver while ensuring to keep the driver off for 1 minute to allow for the update to take effect. Should you continue to have the alarm, please contact us at techsupport@orientalmotor.com or call at 1-800-GO VEXTA.
