Fuji Modbus Setup

Q: What parameters are necessary for Modbus control using a Fuji VFD.

A: For the motor parameter setup you can reference the previous forum post linked below.

For the Modbus parameters they would be the ones listed below.
Communication link function H30 = 3 RS-485
RS-485 Communication (station address) Y01 = 1
Baud Rate Y04 = 2 (9600bps)
Data length Y05 = 0 (8 bits)
Parity Check Y06 = 1 (Even Parity 1 stop bit for ModBUS)
Stop bit Y07 = 1 (1 bit)
Protocol Selection Y10 = 0 (ModBUS RTU protocol)
NOTE: Fuji RS-485 wiring differs from OM reference forum post linked below.

Once you have changed these parameters you can start RS-485 communication. For function code registers reference the table below.

Linked below is the RS-485 Fuji manual for reference. Page 55 has a reading and writing query example.

To run you would then write to the S06: Run operation command (Read/Write) function code which would be 07h for the Hi byte and 06h for the Lo byte. To set the frequency you would write to function code S05. Below are the bits in the S06 function code.
